B(r)and Loyalty… Learn to Fly

Will legacy channel partners cloud business models “learn to fly” in 2016?  What’s missing in today’s disruptive era of cloud computing? Passion and Client Experience. Music is a powerful means of engaging one’s emotions, unleashing one’s passion and instilling pride. What feelings to you get when you think of your national anthem, a favorite hymn, or your college fight song? You have a connection and often times start singing along (engagement).  I recently watched Rockin1000’s video made in the summer of 2015, a passionate means of persuasion for the Foo Fighters to perform a concert. The band listened and on November 3rd 2015 they serenaded 1,000 fans behind “Learn to Fly” performance with concert in Cesena, ItalyDave Grohl Foo Fighters founder and led vocalist said “Of course we couldn’t say no, we had to come.” Today with over 30M views and over 400,000 likes Rockin1000’s video  serves as inspiration to many. Listen to the video creator’s emotional plea at 4:09 of the video. It may be a far reaching analogy but if imitation is the most sincere form of flattery why then are so many Technology Manufacturers deaf to their channel partners’ requests as they learn to fly? So what does it take for Channel Partners to Learn to Fly?  Committed Artisans, A Shared Passion, A Common Voice, an Investment of Time, An Audience willing to listen, A Producer willing to respond. If 1000 Rockers collaborating in a healthy Ecosystem can do it…well…. Maybe just maybe it’s the inspiration for a meaningful Jam Session.
